Form Flow and Force

In this task the class were asked to get into groups of 4. Each group then posed for each other so that we produced life drawings for the following titles:

Rhythm is a Dancer, drawing 12-18 poses each 10 seconds long.
These done in order to explore someone flowing through a space.

Ah, Push it! At least four images drawings that capture the essence of the model pushing against an object 5-10 minutes long.

Strike a Pose, produce four 20-30 minute poses that ask us to consider shape, form and weight of the model.

Like a Puppet on String, drawings of 10-20 second poses that explore squashing-stretching and expanding-contracting movements.

Set Series Sequence, Final Designs

I decided to use my concept of electricity connecting two telephones between two characters. It illustrates how such a complex process is used without much excitement, i.e. the result is anti-climatic as the receiver simply says "hello...?".
Using a range of different media I created the following images:

Using coloured pens

Using water colour paint

Using coloured pens

Using charcoal and coloured pen

Using pencil and water colour paint

Using coloured pens

Digital drawing

Using water colour paints and coloured pencils.

Set Series Sequence 24 Images

For my Set Series Sequence I was given the word 'telephone'. The following images are what I came up with for this word by exploring different ways to represent it. Ideas include modern, old, futuristic, wireless, references related to telephones and just bizarre (e.g. mouth and ear on a telephone).

Environmental Storytelling, Animations

'Garden of Words' is a Japanese animated film which makes use of drawn and cgi animation to create high detail. The lighting and colours used create a very colourful vivid environments while keeping it very photo realistic. Scenes take place within Tokyo and especially Shinjuku Gyoen Park which is the garden. This provides a range of environments which different colours and textures.

Akira is another Japanese drawn animated film which uses a huge amount of detail. It uses a range of colours along with dark shady tones to create this run down futuristic Neo Tokyo. You get a sense of it being cyberpunk with the darkness and gritty environments.

Environment Storytelling

For this task we were asked to create a series of images depicting different environments inside and outside (e.g. inside or outside of a building). We had to create them using a range of different media such as pencil, water colours, charcoal, etc.
Here are my variations using media like charcoal, paints, pens, pencils and digital:

Pencil and Charcoal drawing of buildings outside my window.

Coloured pen drawing of stairs in Liberty Park, using the bleeding of the ink and water to make this effect.
For this I had to draw the scene back-to-front in order for the bleeding of the ink to be the right way around.

Painting of bridge using water colours.

Single line pencil drawing of building near Millenium Square.

Pencil sketch of stairs in Liberty Park.

Coloured pen drawing of stairs in Liberty Park.

Pencil sketch of bridge using water colour paint, coloured pencil and gouache paint as well.

Charcoal sketch of buildings near Millennium Square.

Charcoal and water drawing of stairs in Liberty Park.
Water Colour Pencils sketch/painting of stairs in Liberty Park

Digital rough drawing of bridge.

Digital black and white drawing of stairs in Liberty Park.

Digital pop arty drawing of stairs in Liberty Park
